About mAE

Home & College life

What I do

At home, I do a bit of DJing when I can find the time to. I have 2 Gemini PT-2000 III vinyl decks and we have a lot of dance, dnb, garage and house vinyls. At the start of the year I got a DDJ-400 controller which came with DM-40 monitors, the controller came with Rekordbox which is a really good DJ software, all the kit is amazing and easy to use I 100% recommend it if you like this sort of stuff. I've linked my Soundcloud, so far I have one mix on there which is a garage mix. I am working on some more they're taking some time to get done, the demo runs are up on my Instagram.

Since starting at college, I have produced 4 covers (these include help from others who worked on the project), I've done Black Crowes - Hard to Handle, Billie Eilish - Halley's Comet, Billie Eilish - Billie Bossa Nova, and Chase and Status - Program (the drum track as my friend can play it on drums). I have the link to Billie Bossa Nova which is on this website.

I’m a big Billie Eilish fan, I’ve even seen her with my own eyes. Other than liking her I’ll listen to any kind of music but I don’t really like country or classical. I’m very into drum and bass and I love trying to mix drum and bass tracks, I’m better at mixing garage though at the moment. I do enjoy 80s music a lot, mostly because I wish I grew up in the 80s but the music from then is so good. I also listen to a lot of Foo Fighters, Evanescence, Within Temptation, Linkin Park, Thirty Seconds to Mars etc.

Music producing

I love producing music, I'm good at setting gain levels and getting sound levels set right. I can mix tracks but I still need to work on it as there's loads more I have yet to discover. I also need to work on my mastering skills as I haven't really dived into that as much as I would like to.

Live sound experience

Here's me doing live sound for a college gig and trying to figure out the new desk as it's digital and not analogue, I first learnt live sound on analogue. These shows with the digital desk were Christmas shows, the first show was practice for the Year 1s and they ask us Year 2s to go in and help but since I was the first Year 2 to sus it out I was asked. The set up day and the actual show day I was basically a teacher to them, this show went well but I was sat there helping them out so I made sure they knew what to do if the sound wasn't great. I also did another Christmas gig which was with one of the Year 2s from music performance and I was in charge of the sound for the whole show, this wasn't difficult as it was an acoustic show except one of the guitar batteries died so it had to get switched.

Bio

I'm based in Gloucestershire and either going on to the Uni level course for Music at Gloucestershire College, if I decide to not go ahead with that I would love to do Live Sound or a Music Producer. I wouldn't mind being a resident DJ at nearby venues either.
